About two weeks ago I went down to Jackson, MS, to spend some time with my BFF & we did a lot of pampering over at The Face and Body Spa!
If you follow me on Instagram you may remember me posting about getting Microneedling with PRP, also know as the famous “Vampire Facial”. I got 1,000,000 DMs about this procedure. Most of you wanted to know if it is actually worth it because you really only see celebs get this done and they already have perfect skin. I’m here to give you the 411 on all things Microneedling with PRP including before and after pictures (:
What is Microneedling
Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment which creates tiny punctures or micro-injuries in the skin using fine needles (.5 to2 millimeters in diameter). The tiny punctures trigger the body’s wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
What is PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
Platelet Rich Plasma, also referred to as “Liquid Gold”, is produced from your own blood. After a vial of blood is obtained, your blood is put into a centrifuge, which separates your blood from the PRP.
PRP contains highly concentrated amounts of natural growth factors that promote the regeneration process of soft tissues. The PRP is applied directly to the micro-injuries that were created from the microneedling to further stimulate the natural healing process

Does Microneedling Hurt
The aesthetician will numb your face with a topical numbing cream for about 30 minutes before the procedure starts. There may be some discomfort but it should be very minimal.
What is the Downtime
You’ll leave the treatment a bit red, almost like a sunburn. Your skin will completely recover in about 24-72 hours.
How much does it cost

I’ve seen massive results in my skin in just the two weeks since getting this procedure. So much of my hyperpigmentation from acne scars are gone, my skin feels so much tighter and I actually haven’t had much acne since the treatment. My skin seems to only be getting better every single day. Thank you so much to The Face and Body Spa for letting me come into the Spa and get Microneedling with PRP! I couldn’t have had a better experience.
PS: If you have PRP left over after your treatment is done, ask if you can take it home. Apply it to your face the night of your treatment and the morning after!
